EcoOnline expands and strengthens its comprehensive EHS SaaS Solutions by acquiring Munio, a Norwegian provider of EHS eLearning content and Learning Management System (LMS). Together, EcoOnline and Munio will offer a strong product that differentiates with its ease of use for frontline workers and contractors.

Munio is a leading EHS eLearning and LMS software provider based in Norway. Their innovative eLearning platform includes an extensive library of courses. Munio has +50 eLearning platform customers as well as +1500 customers using the eLearning courses. Their customers are mainly represented by larger manufacturing and chemical processing companies, with a total of 250 000 users globally. Recently Munio also successfully entered the German market with the goal of further expansion.

As stated by EcoOnline’s CEO Göran Lindö:

“In EcoOnline, the safety and wellbeing of workers are at the forefront of all development – our investments in eLearning are a key part of that goal. The acquisition of Munio strengthens and broadens our offering, both through their leading product, content, and a best-in-class team. Through Munio, we can offer a complete in-house EHS learning solution, in addition to further modules such as access management. I look forward to welcoming the team and their customers to the EcoOnline family.”

The launch of EcoOnline’s existing Learning Manager solution earlier this year reveals a massive demand from companies to access training tools for their employees. Even before COVID hit, an emerging trend was for learning processes to move forward from traditional classroom education. The learners requested control over their educational process, as the learning pace accelerates across all industries.

It is crucial for industries that traditionally use many contractors to have a learning tool that quickly provides immediate access to the whole supply chain. Post-COVID, the future of work looks to be permanently moving into hybrid solutions, leaving almost all businesses with the demand for providing effective training remotely.

To be an attractive employer in today’s complex world, all organizations need to foster a culture of continuous learning. Businesses focusing on upskilling and reskilling the workforce stand stronger, and it’s proven that high quality and engaging training mitigates risk and improves engagement.

Munio’s CEO Eddy Robertsen adds:

"We in Munio have in the last couple of years seen a rapid increase in demand and interest for smart learning systems and e-courses. There is no doubt; we are at a watershed moment for how we think about learning, competency, and people management. As part of the EcoOnline organization, we can much more efficiently provide a comprehensive and ground-breaking solution in more geographies, benefitting new and existing customers alike. The match between Munio and EcoOnline fits like a glove,” adds Eddy Robertsen, CEO of Munio.
